AIR INDIA DREAMLINER CRASHES IN AHMEDABAD, 241 FEARED DEAD
AHMEDABAD: A devastating Air India Boeing 787 Dreamliner, en route from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick, crashed shortly after takeoff on Thursday afternoon, claiming the lives of an estimated 241 people. Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated that the intense heat from the burning fuel left no chance for survival for those on board.
The ill-fated flight carried 242 individuals, including two pilots and 10 cabin crew members.
The aircraft also crashed into the BJ Medical College hostel in Meghaninagar, resulting in injuries to at least 20 medical students.
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport is now partially operational following the tragedy.
In response to the disaster, Air India is dispatching two relief flights from Delhi and Mumbai to assist victims' families and staff.
